The jig is up.

I have caved.  All of my clothes, while they might still technically fit, are getting so tight that they are no longer comfortable and are clearly screaming to everyone that my bust is bigger and my belly is bigger.

People might not technically guess that I am pregnant yet.. they might just think that I have been over indulging in sweets... but I think it is more obvious when I wear my non maternity clothes that i have gained weight then when I try to wear maternity clothes... so today.. this is it... i'm in maternity clothes for the first time.  I took the belt out of the shirt so it won't emphasize the bump so much... It just looks like a loose fitting tunic.  And so far no eyebrows have been raised.  Although most people are out of the office today anyway.

I am just hoping to get through this week... Once we've told our families I feel less bad about wearing maternity clothes.

  1. Hunny, you're growing a baby in there, screw what everyone thinks, you need to be comfortable! From the quick looks at maternity clothes I've taken at Old Navy and Target, they look no different than regular clothes, they're just a bit stretchier. I'm sure no one will notice. Have fun telling your families!

    1. the best thing I ever read said "you are going to have to buy maternity clothes eventually, you might as well get your money's worth out of them, wear them early wear them often". I am embracing that idea today.

  2. Good for you - you need to be comfortable! And like Aislinn commented, most maternity clothes look like regular clothes until you really fill it out, so I odubt anyone will notice.

Gah, exciting to be in maternity clothes! I'm dreaming of that. :)

    1. It's my husbands fault... every morning i put something on and he says... "I dunno... you look pregnant in that". I think it's only because he KNOWS i'm pregnant. RIght??

I hope you get to join me in maternity clothes soon. Hang in there.

  3. Might as well be comfortable! The way I see it- most people are so wrapped up in their own shit that they don't really notice these things until a woman is showing in a big way. Except for those of us who have dealt with infertility. We notice EVERYTHING!

    1. That's probably why I am so concerned. I could spot a 6 week pregnant women at 100m away. I'm currently hiding under a giant sweater too... not out of paranoia though so much as too much freaking air conditioning.

  4. Just found your blog. Good decision on switching to maternity clothes. They are absolutely the best thing to happen to the world. Also, once you tell family you will feel so relieved!

  5. Yay for maternity clothes!! I agree with you that it's easier to look less pregnant in maternity clothes than regular--and it's 100x easier to feel more comfortable! Can't wait to hear about telling your families :)
